The first Black Bear Brand pop-up in Japan. Ebisu, Tokyo. October 2, 3 and 4.

A long road to a small room

I have been going to Japan for years. I go for the cloth and I go for the people, and I come home changed every time. Black Bear Brand Japan has been running for five years now. In all that time we have never opened our own doors there.

In October we do. Three days in Ebisu, in Shibuya. It is the first Black Bear Brand pop-up in Japan and I am counting the days.

What will be in the room

The pieces people know, and the pieces that are new. Denim that has been worn in. Corduroy in our own colors, dyed for us and washed in our own wash. Jackets that take a few seasons to become what they are going to be.

The Black Bear Brand women's jeans will be there. This year I started the women's collection, and this is the first time anyone in Japan will be able to put a pair in their hands, look at the fit and the fabric and the stitching, and decide for themselves.

The vintage engineer pant and the engineer coat, made with TCB in Okayama, release at the pop-up.
