Tokyo Gets It First / 東京が、いちばん先に

I fly to Japan on October 1. The next morning we open the doors.

This is the first Black Bear Brand pop up in Japan. Three days, and I am there for all of them. For everyone in Japan who has only ever seen these clothes on a screen, this is the first time you can pick a piece up, feel the weight of it, and put it on.

I have wanted this for a long time and I am about as excited as I get.

10月1日に日本へ発ちます。その翌朝、店を開けます。

Black Bear Brand にとって、日本で初めてのポップアップです。3日間、私もずっと会場にいます。これまで画面越しにしか見たことがなかった方も、今回は手に取って、重さを感じて、袖を通すことができます。

ずっとやりたかったことです。今、かなり興奮しています。

The engineer pieces / ヴィンテージの Engineer Pant と Coat

The vintage engineer pant and the engineer coat will be there, and nobody has seen them in person anywhere yet. Tokyo gets that first.

They came out of original Black Bear Brand pieces I tracked down, and TCB worked them up with us. They release on September 29, just before I get on the plane.

ヴィンテージの Engineer Pant と Engineer Coat を持っていきます。実物をご覧いただくのは、世界のどこよりも東京が先です。

私が探し出したオリジナルの Black Bear Brand のピースから起こしたもので、TCB と一緒に仕上げました。9月29日に発売します。ちょうど飛行機に乗る直前です。

The Hunter Green peacoat / HUNTER Green のピーコート

The new one is coming with me.

14.7oz custom Hunter Green wool, made for us in the Aichi-Ichinomiya area of Japan. Black Cupra through the whole lining, made for us in Japan. Anchor buttons down the front. The whole coat is made in Japan, which makes bringing it to Tokyo feel about right.

新しいピーコートも一緒に持っていきます。

14.7oz のカスタム HUNTER Green ウール。愛知・一宮エリアで Black Bear Brand のために織られたものです。裏地は全面ブラックの Cupra、これも日本で作られています。前立てにはアンカーボタン。コートそのものが日本製です。東京に持っていくのに、ちょうどいい一着だと思います。

A jacket you can only get in the room / この部屋でしか手に入らないジャケット

I am carrying over a very small stock of the COMMANDER jacket in black and charcoal roughout.

Roughout means the raw side of the hide faces out. People write it roughout, rough out and rough-out, and all three mean the same thing. The COMMANDER is the shape: a leather jacket cut like a shirt, snaps down the front, a plain cuff, the hem sitting at your belt.

These are for the pop up only. They are not going on the site, not in Japan and not anywhere else. If you are in the room you can have one, and that is the whole of it.

COMMANDER ジャケットの black / charcoal roughout を、ごく少量だけ持っていきます。

roughout とは、革の裏側を表にして仕立てることです。roughout、rough out、rough-out と書き方はいくつかありますが、どれも同じ意味です。COMMANDER はシャツのように仕立てたレザージャケットの形で、前はスナップ、袖口はプレーン、着丈はベルトの位置です。

これはポップアップ限定です。サイトには並びません。日本でも、ほかのどの国でも。会場にいらした方だけが手にできます。

Tees from home / アメリカ製の T シャツ

I am bringing our made in the USA tees over with me as well. Simple thing to carry and a good thing to have in a bag.

made in USA の T シャツも一緒に持っていきます。荷物に入れやすくて、持っていて間違いのないものです。

Everything we make in Japan / 日本で作っているすべて

The full collection of what we make in Japan will be there to see, to try on and to take home. The denim, the corduroy in our own colors, the shirting, the coats.

Most of it was made a few hours from that room, and none of it has ever been in one place in Japan before.

日本で作っているコレクションを、ひと通り揃えて持っていきます。見て、試着して、そのままお持ち帰りいただけます。デニム、私たちのカスタムカラーのコーデュロイ、シャツ、コート。

そのほとんどが、あの会場から数時間の場所で作られたものです。それが日本でひとつの場所に揃うのは、今回が初めてです。
