Denim, Corduroy and Wool: Winter the Way I Wear It
Denim, Corduroy and Wool: Winter the Way I Wear It
Three cloths that were made for the cold, and the ways I put them together.
Three cloths
Denim, corduroy and wool are each rugged in their own way, and each wears better as it ages. Together they give winter clothes depth. The blue of indigo, the soft ridge of a cord and the weight of a wool coat all look good side by side.
I do not tell anyone how to dress. Here are the combinations I wear, for whatever they are worth to you.
Selvedge, merino and the peacoat
For a cold day in the city, the Indigo Cowboy Jeans, the Cable Knit Fisherman Wool Sweater in navy merino, and the Black Bear Brand Peacoat over it all. Navy, indigo and black wool sit well together.
Corduroy, a thermal and Harris Tweed
For a dinner that runs late, the Double Front IVORY Washed Cords, the Ultimate Thermal Henley in charcoal, and the GOLDEN Harris Tweed Chore Coat. The ivory cord and the golden tweed are warm colors for a cold night.
Black on black
For a night out, the BLACK Cowboy Jeans and the BLACK Melton Western Jacket, 23.5oz wool melton with leather backed antique gold snaps. The gold snaps carry the whole outfit.
Layers for the ride
On the bike in winter, the layers go thermal, then flannel, then the WINTER Washed Denim Chore Coat with its diamond quilting, then the Deerskin Pile Lined Gloves.
Your way
These are mine. The cloth is good enough that almost any combination works. Find the one that feels like you.
A Way Of Life.
