Acetate:
SALT. is committed to using only the most premium handmade cellulose acetate in the world. Our acetate is created from cotton seeds and wood pulp, which allows it to be hypoallergenic and sustainable. We partner with Takiron Rowland, a Japanese acetate factory that has been producing handmade acetate for the better part of 100 years. This special process is done by hand, creating a unique pattern every single time and making each piece unique unto itself. This level of care and craftsmanship ensures the final product has enough rigidity and durability to maintain a proper fit, lasting adjustments, and high luster.  

Lenses:
SALT’s proprietary lens offering utilizes the most advanced coatings, filters, and optics to create an optimized viewing field. Incorporating a depth of knowledge of how the human brain interprets visual information taken in by the eye, SALT. has engineered lenses that deliver the perfect balance of color, contrast, and light transmission. The SALT. lens profile is 100% polarized across all lens materials. Light entering our eyes is constantly moving and in flux, creating what we perceive as glare. Our Japanese polarized lenses channel this reflected light, eliminating glare and optimizing the viewing filed. Even when wearing sunglasses UV rays can enter your eye from reflected light on the backside of the lens. These unwanted light rays can contribute to the harms of UV exposure to both the eyes and the skin around the eyes. SALT.’s proprietary Anti-Reflective coating greatly reduces the amount of reflected light, protecting your eyes and skin in any light condition.  

Gold Hardware:
For the first time at SALT. we’ve used precious metal to create custom hardware, utilizing 24K Gold plated hinges and core wires, as well as solid gold functional rivets.  

Frame Skeleton:
Each color way of the SIRLIN was made with custom laminated temples. This allows for an understated classic exterior look with a bold interior gold skeleton. 

Temple Tip Etching:
The interior of each temple tip is etched with SALT.’s organic pattern. This ensures that the frame will grip the scalp as much as possible when wearing to provide a sturdy fit.

8mm Acetate:
Utilizing 8mm acetate designed with specific thickness transitions and bevel placement ensures that any stress put on the frame is not transferred to the lens.  

Functional Hardware:
Functional pins and real rivet hinges ensure that our frames can be adjusted and repaired over time providing a perfect fit for decades to come.
